Ann Pellegrino

ABOUT

Ann is an artist working out of her home studio in Vestal NY with her husband, three kids, and dog Penny. She is an illustrator and lettering artist with a background in graphic design. Ann has been making and posting daily artwork since 2016 (@spotgirldesign on Instagram). She is an active member of the Vestal Creative Masterminds group, Black Cat Gallery in Owego, and the Binghamton Department of Public Art. When not in the studio, Ann may be found baking cookies, doing puzzles, or playing board games (often while listening to a podcast).

ARTIST STATEMENT

Ann is believer in enriching emotional well-being through the practice of daily drawing. Making art is her tool for working through anxious feelings and turning them into something purposeful: bright illustrations that are a comforting, happy distraction. The result is a visual treat that is sweet, colorful, and fun. Her combination of digital and hand drawing allows her work to be graphic and bold as well as friendly and approachable. She believes art can help us through difficult times, be imperfect, be a welcome escape, and allow us to connect.
