Donna Cheresnowski

ABOUT

I started painting in 2004, taking classes at Fine Design Art Studio, learning oil painting. After that I kept learning through videos, books and workshops. After a few years, I then started painting in Acrylics under the direction of Robert Merwin in Owego. I am a member of the Tioga County Arts Council and am a board member of the Fine Arts Society of the Southern Tier (FASST).

ARTIST STATEMENT

Nothing is more relaxing for me than painting. The hours fly by without me even noticing. I can’t wait to finish the current painting because I already have the next one in mind that I want to start. My favorite paintings are landscapes.  Nature is so beautiful and inspiring.  I paint from photographs of places we travel each year, which is my inspiration for new paintings.  I work out of my home studio.  I love bright colors but occasionally love a crisp black and white painting.  I am especially fond of water and snow scenes.
