Karalyn Hope

ABOUT

Karalyn Hope (she/her) is a photographer, videographer, and graphic designer who is currently based in Warren Center, PA but travels frequently to other cities across the states. Her work is primarily focused on the music industry but she enjoys photographing families, couples, high school and college seniors, along with local businesses and creators. 

She is a graduate of State University of New York At Fredonia (SUNY Fredonia). She received a Bachelor of Science in Music Industry with a minor in Visual Arts & New Media. For the past seven years, she has focused on documenting concerts and people in the area and is always looking to expand and work with more individuals both in and out of the music industry. 

In summer of 2022, she published a 60 page photo book/zine that highlights photos she took from the Johnson City community art space Avenue DIY, which hosted shows from 2017 to 2019. Karalyn is currently working on a second zine for the Fredonia, New York venue NPSC and is open to zine and book design commissions. 

Since April 2022, she has been working with the Buffalo based band Fernway and has been on the road with them visiting cities like Chicago, Boston, and Pittsburgh. She is also the owner of For The Punks, a resource and publication for music and art fans and creators to connect and grow together. 

Karalyn Hope has a print shop on her website with landscape photos available to purchase, accepts commissions for photo and design work, and is currently working on a series of zines to be published throughout 2022 and 2023. 

ARTIST STATEMENT

Inspired (mostly) by hardcore and punk music, Karalyn Hope is an artist who works both digitally and with physical mediums like paint, magazines, and ink to create. Her focus is photography, videography, zines and booklets, and posters/admats for events and tours. She enjoys working with a variety of colors but her go to is black and white, purples, blues, and golden hour for family and senior portraits.

Karalyn almost always has her camera with her and is always willing to work with new people. She has had the best time being able to meet and work with a variety of people throughout New York, Pennsylvania, and neighboring states since 2016 and can’t wait to see what the future brings.
