Sue Heavenrich

ABOUT

Sue Heavenrich used to write articles for newspapers and magazines. Now she writes books for children and their families. For the past couple decades, she penned the science column for Ithaca Child.

Sue’s background is in biology, with an emphasis on insect behavior and ecology—she once spent a month trying to trade seeds with harvester ants. From native bees to seed-stealing squirrels, the world outside her back door inspires her writing. Sue is an active member of Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators. She shares book reviews, author interviews, and science at her Archimedes Notebook blog and creates STEM and STEAM programs for schools and libraries. Sue is represented by Heather Cashman at Storm Literary Agency.
