Suzanne M. Lachman
ABOUT
Suzanne Mariani Lachman, visual artist and retired special educator and adjunct lecturer, blends her love for painting with the natural world around her. Exploring color and design opens an avenue of creative expression that has become a passionate life-long pursuit, allowing her to combine her fondness for a beautiful sea or landscape with her insatiable desire to paint. Snapshots taken on various travels, including the lovely hills and countryside of upstate NY, provide a wealth of inspiration for her work. In addition to painting, Suzanne spends time happily knitting, reading or puttering in her gardens. Suzanne, a graduate of Binghamton University, SUNY Cortland, and SUNY Geneseo, is currently a member of the Tioga Arts Council in Owego, NY and a supporting member of the 213 Cooperative Gallery in Binghamton. In 2018, Suzanne became a recipient of the prestigious Albert Nelson Marquis Who’s Who Lifetime Achievement Award for her work in public education. Her studio is located upstairs in the Walk-Up Gallery and Studio Space, 179 Front St., Owego, NY.
